Weymouth High Theater Company
It is the mission of the Weymouth High Theater Company to expose as many students as possible to the theatrical arts while providing all students with a safe place to be accepted for who they are and strive to grow into the best versions of themselves. The student artists of the Weymouth High Theater Company work yearly to bring four different performances together. Students participate in the creation process of the fall musical, the winter METG Festival competition play, the spring student-directed one-acts, and a summer Broadway Revue.
Students within the WHTC are responsible for everything from performing to light/sound/set/costume/props design and execution, stage management, run crew, graphic design, and many, many other roles. Though the WHTC has been incredibly successful and won multiple awards including state and regional championships, the root of the theater, brought to us by many ancient civilizations, is bringing people together in a collaborative experience that comments on and reflects on our culture and world. For many, this is a life-changing experience.
